Prepare to be enthralled as we navigate Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter, immersing ourselves in the vibrant culture and rich history that have shaped this remarkable community. The Fisher’s knowledgeable narrators will regale you with fascinating anecdotes and insights into the lives of the local fishermen, offering a deeper understanding of their traditions. Venturing beyond the waters, we’ll stroll along Ap Lei Chau Main Street, gaining a glimpse into the lives of the fishermen both onshore and offshore. Witness the evolution of the South District and discover how these resilient individuals navigate the tides of change.
To deepen your appreciation for marine conservation and cultural preservation, we’ll conclude the tour with a guided visit to Pacific Pier at Ocean Park. Here, you’ll expand your knowledge of marine culture and gain a greater understanding of the significance of preserving our oceans. But the adventure doesn’t end there. As you soak in the experiences of the day, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the park’s serene ambience

Program Details
- Visit Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter, and learn about Hong Kong’s fisheries through guided tours by Kaito
- Local fishery culture and traditional customs narration to cultivate values of respect and build a diverse community concept
- Tour around Ap Lei Chau Main Street and listen to the daily life of fisherfolk on the shore
- Boat ride to Ocean Park Tai Shue Wan Pier and visit exhibits at Ocean Park
- Take a guided tour of Ocean Park’s Pacific Pier to learn about marine culture and conservation knowledge
- Enjoy free time at Ocean Park after the tour
Participant age:
- The programme is suitable for participants aged 6 to 75.Participants under 6 years old are not recommended.
- However, participants who are under 18 years old must be accompanied by a paying parent / guardian.
- An eligible paying parent / guardian can accompany a maximum of ONE eligible paying participant aged 6 – 11 or TWO eligible paying participants aged 12-17.

Hung Shing Temple at Ap Lei Chau – Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter – Ap Lei Chau Main Street – Ocean Park Tai Shue Wan Pier – Ocean Park’s Pacific Pier – Free Time
Remark: Itinerary may change depending on weather and sea conditions. Priority is always given to the safety of the participants.

Notes on Registration
- All applications will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Enrolment deadline: 5 calendar days before the commencement of each programme.
- Participants will receive a confirmation letter via email once enrolment and payment is confirmed. Please pay attention to the spam or junk mailboxes of your email account.
- The selected programme date, time, participant’s name, and email address cannot be changed or rescheduled. All payments made are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Please make sure the programme dates fit in the participant’s schedule before enrolment.
- Participant absence due to any circumstances is considered as a “no show”, no rescheduling or other arrangements will be provided. Please be punctual, late-comers will not be entertained.
- Participants who are under 18 years old must be accompanied by a paying parent / guardian.Wheelchairs and strollers are not suitable to use during the program due to safety reasons. Please remark in the application if you have any concerns or requests.
- As space is limited on boat, baby strollers, toddler car seats or high chairs are not recommended to bring along. If there’s any special requirement, please raise during registration.
- If the activity needs to be cancelled due to adverse weather or other special circumstances (e.g. vessel or venue maintenance), the programme staff will notify the affected participants about the arrangements (please refer to the Section IV of “Terms and Conditions”); no rescheduling or refund requests will be accepted for other personal reasons.

Important Notes / Remarks:
- For safety reasons, the organiser recommends that participants wear standard life jackets or buoyancy aids during the activity.
- Participants suffering from any infectious disease specified in the First Schedule to the Prevention and Control of Disease Ordinance (Cap 599 of the laws of Hong Kong) will not be allowed to take part in this programme.
- Participants suffering from any disease within a previous 24-hour time frame (including, but not limited to fever, cough, cold/flu, nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, rash, skin disease, heart disease, lung disease, haemophilia, epilepsy, fainting/dizziness/loss of consciousness when in close contact with animals, phobia of water or animals, allergy to fish or depressed immune mechanisms) are not recommended to participate in this programme.
- Part of the programme will take place on the boat. Participants who are prone to sea sickness or quick to feel unwell are advised to prepare their own medication.
- Participants must make sure the information provided are accurate.
- If the number of applicants is insufficient (5 days before the event date), or the programme need to be cancelled, delayed or refunded due to adverse weather, the organiser will contact participants by phone call, email or message.
- The organiser will take photos or videos during the programme for any publicity or promotional purposes. Other participants joining the programme will also have access to these items.
- Tai Shue Wan Pier may be closed if Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 or above is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory three days prior to the programme. In case of such, the programme will be cancelled. The organiser will contact the affected participants for the refund or reschedule arrangement.

- Section I: Criteria for Participation
- The programme is suitable for participants aged 6 to 75. Participants under 6 years old are not recommended. However, participants who are under 18 years old must be accompanied by a paying parent / guardian Remark 1 who satisfies all programme requirements. An eligible paying parent / guardian can accompany a maximum of ONE eligible paying participant aged 6 – 11 or TWO eligible paying participants aged 12-17.
- The programme requires a minimum of 9 If there is insufficient enrolment, the programme will be cancelled.
- Participants must not be suffering from any infectious disease Remark 2 specified in the First Schedule to the Prevention and Control of Disease Ordinance (Cap 599 of the laws of Hong Kong).
- Participants suffering from any disease within a previous 24-hour time frame (including, but not limited to fever, cough, cold/flu, nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, rash, skin disease, heart disease, lung disease, haemophilia, epilepsy, fainting/dizziness/loss of consciousness when in close contact with animals, phobia of water or animals, allergy to fish or depressed immune mechanisms) are not recommended to participate in this programme.
- To safeguard all participants, sick participants are requested to stay home. The organiser reserves the right to request the sick participants to leave the programme in case of such necessities.
- The programme will be conducted in Cantonese.
- If a situation arises where a participant threatens the safety or security of himself/herself or another participant, or if a participant shows disregard for programme guidelines, the participant may be dismissed from the programme at the discretion of the organiser. The participating parent/guardian shall have responsibility for the child’s safety and behaviour at all times and is obliged to conduct himself or herself in such a manner so as to achieve this. The organiser will not be responsible for any costs associated with a participant’s dismissal on the grounds of disruptive behaviour.
- A condition of entry is to comply with all the By-laws and safety rules of all venues. The organiser shall be under no liability or responsibility for any loss of any kind or any damage to any property of any person.
- If the organiser’s property is found lost or damaged during the programme, reimbursement in full cost must be made by the participant concerned.
- In case of emergency, participants must be able to quickly exit the activity venue under the guidance of programme staff.
- Participants must absolutely follow all the instructions given by the programme staff at all times.
- The programme staff and programme shall at all times have the full and final right to determine whether any participant is suitable for the programme and may refuse entry if refusal is necessary to ensure safety or order. Programme refund, reschedule or any compensation will not be arranged.
- The criteria listed above are subjected to change at the discretion of the organiser and without prior notice.
- In case of bad weather and sea conditions during the activity, the programme staff has the authority to suspend the activity. The organiser will not arrange for refunds, change of activity dates or any compensation.

- Participants will receive a confirmation email once registration and payment have been confirmed. Please pay attention to the spam or junk mailboxes of your email account. Email will be sent according to the contact information provided. Please ensure information provided are accurate.
- The chosen programme date, participant’s name, and email cannot be changed upon confirmation. All payments made are non-transferable and non-refundable. Please make sure the programme date fit into the participant’s schedule before registration.
- Please arrive at the gathering point punctually. Late-comers might not be admitted to the programme.
- The Programme Fee includes one complimentary daytime admission ticket on the programme date. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with other tickets offers.
- Part of the programme will be carried out on the vessel. If participants are prone to seasickness or quick to feel unwell, please prepare your own medicines. The organiser will not provide any medication.
- Boarding and cabin space are limited. Baby strollers, baby chairs, and toddler car seats are not recommended on board. If you have any special needs, please specify in advance.
- All participants are not allowed to leave the group without prior approval from the organiser’s staff.
- It is highly recommended that no valuable items be brought to the venue. In the event that a participant’s property is lost, damaged, or otherwise damaged, the organiser shall not be liable or responsible.
- For safety reasons, participants are advised to wear standard life jackets or buoyancy aids during the activity.
- All participants are recommended to wear light clothing and bring their own drinking water, hats and sunscreen. Avoid wearing loose items.
- The programme is itself covered by Public Liability Insurance. Participants are fully responsible for arranging, at their own expense, such life, health and other forms of insurance coverage as the individual considers appropriate
- The programme does not accept accompanying visitors (including children under 6 years old).
- Participants should present their confirmation email to the programme staff on the date of the programme.
- The itinerary or content of the programme may be subject to change without prior notice.
- Tai Shue Wan Pier may be closed if Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 or above is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory three days prior to the programme. In case of such, the programme will be cancelled. The organiser will contact the affected participants for the refund or reschedule arrangement.
- If the activity needs to be cancelled due to weather conditions, as listed out in Section IV, or other special circumstances (e.g. vessel or venue maintenance), the programme staff will notify the affected participants about the arrangements; no rescheduling or refund requests will be accepted for other personal reasons.
- The organiser will take photos or videos during the programme for any publicity or promotional materials. Other participants of the programme will also have access to these items.
- Section III: Enrolment Method & Procedures
Enrolment must be done online at least 5 calendar working days before the program starts. Enrolment is on a first-come, first-served basis A confirmation letter will be sent via email once the registration completed and payment has been received. Please also pay attention if the confirmation letter was wrongly identified as spam or junk mail.
- Section IV: Cancellation
- The organiser has the final decision to terminate or cancel the activity.
- If the number of applicants is insufficient, the organiser reserves the right to cancel the programme.
- All event itineraries or content are subject to change without prior notice.
- The programme will be cancelled under the following circumstances. The organiser informs participants about the arrangement in such cases of adverse weather during / before the programme.
- An amber, red or black rainstorm warning is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory;
- A Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 or above is hoisted by the Hong Kong Observatory;
- Strong Monsoon Signal is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory;
- Thunderstorm Warning is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory;
Note
- When pre-warning thereof or Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.1 is issued before the programme time, all programmes will be cancelled. Participants who are coming to the venue should make their own arrangements back home.
- The organiser would make the following arrangements for the programmes that are decided to be cancelled by the organiser:
- Cancelled programmes will be rescheduled or refunded.
- Arrangements for rescheduling can only be made when places are available
- Rescheduling arrangements can only be made when places are available.
- Refund or reschedule arrangements will be made by phone call or messages within 7 working days after the cancellation of a programme.

- Section V: The organiser reserves the right to change the above contents at any time without further notice.
