About the Program
Program Summary
Along the coastline of Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter, there are various scenes that reflect the unique characteristics of local fishermen. Among them, the sampan, which navigates through the shelter, is a distinctive maritime mode of transportation. This journey will be guided by the Fisher, taking you on a sampan ride to explore the past and present of Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter, revisiting important historical moments in the area and sharing little stories about fisherfolks in the Southern District and the evolution of the community. Additionally, this event will infuse artistic elements for the first time, as we are fortunate to invite local artists from ” Drawing Buddies HK” to lead the participants in outdoor sketching, capturing the unique sampans and landmarks of the shelter. Participants do not need any drawing experience, welcoming all of you who are interested in fishing culture and sketching to join in!
